Orange Leaf celebrates Veteran's Day with frozen yogurt

Orange Leaf is currently one of the hottest franchises on the market, ranking among Entrepreneur's top three new franchises and recognized as one of the top five fastest-growing franchise chains in the country by analytics experts at Technomic, according to a press release courtesy of Mobivity Holdings Corps. Orange Leaf has helped make a name for itself in the frozen yogurt game by making meaningful connections with members of local communities. Advertising efforts with NBA superstar Kevin Durant in the brand's home state of Oklahoma demonstrate that the franchise has plenty of advertising smarts. That savvy is on display again as the franchise invites our nation's heroes out for free yogurt to celebrate Veteran's Day.

Treats for the troops
The company announced that any veteran with proof of military service will get a free 11-ounce cup of frozen yogurt on Nov. 11. Veterans will be required to show a badge, photo in uniform, an ID card, personal honors or be dressed in their uniform to receive their free yogurt. Visiting active-duty and retired personnel will be able to choose from over a dozen sweet, tart and chocolatey yogurts, ensuring that even those with the most discriminating tastes will find a flavor to enjoy. Those looking for a break from the cold instead  can snag a cup of Orange Leaf's pumpkin spice latte, a tasty beverage that will be available through the end of the month. Likewise, soldiers with a sweet tooth will be able to enjoy a unique pumpkin pie-flavored frozen yogurt for the rest of November.

Loyal fans fuel expansion
Orange Leaf's success at attracting and keeping customers has helped the brand move outside of Oklahoma and into larger markets. DNAinfo reported that the frozen yogurt chain opened its first store in Chicago on Nov. 5. Franchisee Amit Patel, who also runs a Jimmy John's in the area, chose Orange Leaf for his food franchise business because of its simple, self-serve convenience. The store has eight machines serving a total of 16 different flavors. Visitors dispense the yogurt and toppings themselves, reducing the workload of the unit's employees. The store has already begun to attract attention from local families who enjoy the store's newly redesigned interior and affordable pricing of 49 cents per ounce.

The frozen yogurt franchise is also setting up shop in another major market - Los Angeles. The Sun Sentinel reported that the new Orange Leaf location opened its doors on Oct. 31 and boasts an assortment of vegan, dairy-free and gluten-free options to reflect the dietary preferences of the local clientele. Franchise owners Josh Putter and Daniel Knell kicked their new frozen yogurt venture off with a blast, entertaining guests with three hours of family entertainment like balloon artists and face painting. Making an good early impression on a new customer base is always a priority for Orange Leaf.
